Road Conditions

HAULAPAI MOUNTAIN Monday July 8, 2025 @ 4:40 p.m. update.

Hualapai Mtn and accessible by tracked or enhanced side-by-side vehicle passed the pond area. Report of rapidly melting snow possibly by the first of April 2025 will be clear of snow, ice and mud. USE CAUTION with 4X4 vehicle.

Hualapai Mountain Road open. Hualapai Mountain Park Road from the Ranger Station only.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: There is a major tower construction project in progress at Potato Patch I site. Concrete trucks and other construction equipment will be traversing the roadway often. Exercise caution and keep an eye out for hikers and wildlife.

Hayden Peak: 03/22/2025 side-by-side vehicle recommended.

Black Mesa: Enhanced 4X4 recommended.

Potato Patch: Enhanced 4X4 vehicle accessible.

Getz Peak: 02/28/2025. 4X4 vehicle accessible.

OATMAN MOUNTAIN: March 29, 2025 4X4 vehicle required. USE CAUTION

Road is rocky with ruts and erosion areas. Wet weather conditions will cause traction slip hazards beginning on steep climb approximately 300 yards past the security gate. Large tire 4X4 with at least 10 inches clearance recommended. Caution – sections of the road are narrow on the downhill side due to water drainage/erosion. Watch for erosion conditions, diches and rocks. Additional observations are needed. Please report any conditions in the posting portal below.
